Before we quote

Useful questions about installation.

How much does installed post and rail fencing cost?

The timber species, fence length, rail arrangement, post sizes and site conditions all affect the price. Corners, gate openings, access, excavation and removal of an existing fence can also change the scope. Our calculator gives an indicative supply-only timber price; installation is quoted separately for your property.

Can you install on sloping or uneven ground?

Yes. We review how the fence will follow the slope and where the ground changes sharply. Our mortices allow a little clearance for rail angles; where further adjustment is needed, the lower corner of a rail end can be trimmed slightly to relieve binding. Send side-on photos so we can assess the layout and post lengths.

Do I need exact measurements before contacting you?

No. Approximate lengths, your suburb and photos are enough to start the conversation. Mark gate openings and changes in direction on a simple sketch if you can. Final measurements and the installation scope need to be confirmed before timber is prepared.

What access and site information do you need?

Tell us about narrow entrances, steep driveways, soft ground, trees, existing fencing and restricted access for machinery. Point out known underground services and any work planned by other trades. These details help us assess preparation, access and the likely installation scope.

Can post and rail fencing contain dogs, horses or livestock?

Open rails alone will not suit every animal. Let us know the species, size and intended use so we can discuss height, rail gaps and whether additional mesh or a suitable electric-fence arrangement is needed. Containment requirements should be considered before choosing the setout.

Are old fence removal, gates and coatings included?

Only where they are specified in your quote. Tell us at the enquiry stage if you need removal and disposal, gates, automation or a coating so we can allow for them and make the scope clear.

Can I buy the timber and use my own installer?

Yes. Use our morticed post and rail calculator in the supply-only section above to plan a kit and send the details for review. We can arrange Warragul pickup or discuss delivery, including interstate freight.
